This problem just started within the last few days, never had problems like this before. In facebook (for example) if I try to click on an external link (such as a link on someones wall to a news article), the new tab opens but it is just blank. The address bar will still be the redirect link (still says facebook.com before the rest of the link). Everything works fine in IE. I am using Windows 7. The problem is not limited to facebook, I have the same problem with links in my emails.

It may be that you have redirections disabled. To see if htis is the case:

  1. Open Tools->Options->Advanced->General
  2. Uncheck "Warn me when sites redirect or reload the page"

Nope that wasn't it. The box was not checked to begin with. Thanks for trying though.

Same here... any solution?

I ended up uninstalling, then reinstalling firefox and that fixed the problem for me. I think it might have been a corrupted firefox update.

Running W7 Home Premium 64 bit. Just started w same problem. Tried reinstalling FireFox w no luck. seems to work on another pc running W7 and same version of FireFox though. Did a full system scan with Avira AV, quarrantined some suspicious files. Rebooted and still the same. May have to go back to IE for now, now that I'm experiencing same issues with more sites.

Any other suggestions? Thanks.
