cannot close Firefox on android (samsung 10+)

When trying to close Mozilla firefox on Android, it just doesn't happen. I can "swipe" it away in app-selector, but it is still open in the background.

It is also refusing to go away from the notification bar, and I am going out of my mind, having to restart my phone each time I use the browser.

Do anyone here have a suggestion? I already tried re-installing FF and rebooting my phone obviously.

It started happening about 1 month ago.

Hi there,

Before you swipe the app away. If you press on the app icon, it should pull up a floating menu. Click on "App info" from that menu,

Then in the bottom right you should see an option that says "Force stop," if you press that does it gray out and does the app close?
