Is it possible to change how long notifications stay on-screen for? I often find they stay on-screen for too long and would like to shorten the duration. I tried researching it, but couldn't find any answers.

Notification from where? I looked at settings and don't see such option on 100.0.2.
The notifications from websites that appear in the bottom right corner of the screen. They're under Privacy & Security -> Permissions.

Mine is the default install and nothing is changed and I don't get the notifications as your mentioning. So what site are you seeing this at?
Any website can request to send notifications, but some prime examples would be social media websites. It looks like they're officially called Web Push notifications, more information here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/push-notifications-firefox.
I have seen the same question asked here and elsewhere but never answered affirmatively.
