IMAP or POP3 for Yahoo mail?

Whenever I switch on my laptop from sleep, TB pops up windows that it cannot login to my ymail accounts. After numerous popups, it finally logs in.
Would switching from IMAP to POP3 fix the problem? Or is there any other solution?
