Problem with Kaspersky certificate

more options

Running Windows 10 64-bit machine. Kaspersky Internet Security ver 19.0.0.1088(c). Mozilla Firefox 62.0.3 freshly reinstalled. Kaspersky continues to say "Secure traffic scan in Firefox is limited." Kaspersky fix leads to importing KIS certificate via Firefox Certificate Manager who says it's already installed as a certificate authority. Mozilla forums (1yr old post) says uninstall Kaspersky. Nice.

Is there a way I can get these two to play nice together? Thanks

This article? Secure traffic control error in the Mozilla Firefox or Thunderbird

Does Firefox work with secure sites currently? Can you tell whether Kaspersky is successfully inserting itself in the middle? For example, on this page on Mozilla Support, call up the Certificate Viewer using the Page Info dialog. Either:

  • right-click (on Mac Ctrl+click) a blank area of the page and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Certificate"
  • (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > "View Certificate"
  • click the padlock or "i" icon in the address bar, then the ">" button, then More Information, and finally the "View Certificate" button

Normally, the "Issued By" section lists Common Name: Amazon these days, because this server is hosted on AWS (Amazon Web Services). What does yours say -- does it reference Kaspersky?

If Kaspersky is working in your current profile, Kaspersky's detection of a problem could be a false positive.
