Firefox is now blocking Wikipedia. Never did this in the past. So far no other blocking of sites. How do I over-ride sites it blocks?

The owner of www.wikipedia.org has configured their website improperly. To protect your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this website. This site uses HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) to specify that Firefox may only connect to it securely. As a result, it is not possible to add an exception for this certificate.

I don't understand their reasoning since last week (I think) I was able to connect just fine. I am not great with computers to say the least. Took me forever to find "Options" etc.

Thanks

That was very good work. Well done. Please flag your last post as Solved Problem so others will know.

There is security software like Avast, Kaspersky, BitDefender and ESET that intercept secure connections and send their own certificate.

As a result, users get these warnings.

Eureka !!! PROBLEM SOLVED ! I kept reading and figured it out! Now the site is opening. BUT since I am the onlyone that uses this computer and I didn't change anything I don't understand why this happened. I did what it said but it sounds like I can now open any site which I'm not sure is a good thing. I do not game or go to weird sites so I guess this is ok. Thanks, Bonnie In Bitdefender security products you can disable the interception of secure connections:

Open the dashboard of your Bitdefender application.
For the 2016 version of the Bitdefender security product, click on Modules.
For the 2015 version of Bitdefender, click on Protection.
   Click on Web Protection.
Toggle off the Scan SSL setting.
