Attempting to reply to responses on "Sign in not working, no confirmation emails issuing, server timing out,
I can't reply to the above two posters because I can't get in to my "account" where it says "Sign In". I can't find out what bit is wrong because I can't get an email response from where it says "Send Email" I can't create a new account because I get told my email is already in use. (I use that email daily so it's not dead.) So, I can't engage in a meaningful discussion of what is wrong because to reply to every reply I get I will have to create a new email account every single time. It would be a useful start if I could find out why I can't get into my support account and why I can't get my login info emails.
When I try to get to my newsgroups I get this, every time.:
"Connection to server news.eternal.september.org timed out"
When I try to sign in to my account which doesn’t exist apparently I get this
"Please enter a correct user name and password"
When I request an email with my username, none arrives. When I get asked to confirm my email, it does not do any better. All I want to do is get back to my news groups. If it’s too difficult to be positive and helpful, say so and I’ll drop the issue and uninstall Thunderbird and Firefox.

I created yet another email account on gmail and this time I managed to get Mozilla Support to send an email with my username so I can now get in to my account, whereas before it would not send anything to my Yahoo email account. Why? I have no clue. I've been using the Yahoo email account for 10 years without a hitch and can't get Mozilla to send it an email but I've opened the Gmail account 5 minutes ago and it happily sends the info?
Anyway, the second part of my response is still an issue from "When I try to get into my newsgroups.....
