I have FF27 and active logins is really annoying me.

I have the following history settings configured; use custom clear history on exit settings for clearing history are; browing and d/l history form and search cookies cache

i have unchecked active logins as i want to click a website (forums) and be auto logged on

but this is not happening unless I let FF remember history.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Active logins have to do with servers that use basic authentication (usually FTP servers that give a pop-up for the user name and password) and not with logins that use usually use to sign on to a website.
Websites store this data in a cookie on the computer, so you need to make sure to keep such a cookie.

Details like websites remembering you (log you in automatically) are stored in a cookie.

  • Create a cookie 'allow' exception to keep such cookies, especially in case of secure websites and when cookies expire when Firefox is closed.
  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions

In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes":

  • do not clear the Cookies
  • do not clear the Site Preferences

Note that clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, passwords, and other website specific data.

Clearing cookies will remove all specified (selected) cookies including cookies with an allow exception that you would like to keep.
