Download Firefox 3.6.18 from here- http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

Then trash that old version and install 3.6.18. Your "personal data" files (like bookmarks and passwords) aren't stored in the Firefox program files folder, so you shouldn't lose any personal data.
