It is very annoying that I create a draft email message, with a meaningful Subject-line, I save it and close the window, but when I look in the Drafts-folder the Subject is "...", and this is still the case when I open the message! This has happened many times for over a year.

Chosen solution

Assuming encryption is enabled for the account, the workaround to restore the subject is to open the message in the message pane by pressing F8. Press F8 again to turn off the message pane.

This is a long standing bug and apparently very challenging to fix, as it is still unresolved after more than one year. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1666005

Do you have encryption enabled? Does the problem reproduce after help > troubleshoot mode?
