I have tried various suggested 'fixes' including re-installing firefox, 'refreshing', clearing cache/cookies, running in 'safe mode' but none work

I am running version 57.0 on Windows 10 with all default settings

I am having this exact same problem and went through the same troubleshooting steps you did. I even tried on multiple devices and the problem seems to persist. Photo attached is what I am seeing on my end.

Whatever the case, this seems to be a problem exclusive to Firefox and has only started over the past few hours.
