I have always used thunderbird for my emails, but recently and computer troubles after downloading Windows 10. I had to perform a reset function which removed all the apps from my computer, including email. I was left with a file called "Removed Apps" and it contained my Mozilla Thunderbird file. When I tried to open this I was asked to download it again. All my address book contacts were gone. Is there any way of recovering them?

Normally, If you upgrade Thunderbird, it will try to open your default profile, BUT... It looks like Windows 10 upgrade had issues and you had to reset (recover?), When you downloaded/installed a new Thunderbird it created a new profile. Hopefully, your missing profile is located in the 'Removed Apps' folder. You can follow the procedures in the link to 'recover' the old profile.
