Open new Tab, this URL loads search.conduit.com/?ctid=CT3317742&octid=EB_ORIGINAL_CTID&SearchSource=69&CUI=&SSPV=&Lay=1&UM=2&UP=SP103B0FA0-DB36-40AF-86D5-91877FEE7E16

Chosen solution

You can check in "Windows Control Panel > Programs" for recently installed programs (sort by "Installed on") to see if anything from Conduit or any other suspicious software shows up.

You can for conduit prefs on the about:config page and reset user set (bold) TEXT prefs via the right-click context menu to the default value.
