Why will Twitter not allow me to log in suddenly using Firefox 58.0.2?

I was using Twitter and checked my Settings and then suddenly the site would not allow me to check or uncheck any boxes. I tried logging out to see if logging back in would fix the problem, but now I cannot log back in to my account. Furthermore, I cannot uncheck the "Remember me" box on the login screen and I cannot put in a different password, the autofill won't retract what's filled in except for the username. My account is working fine on Safari and Pale Moon, I can log out and in and change settings on both. I checked to see if Firefox had updated or something, and it hasn't changed.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.

  • Clear the Cache and
  • Remove Cookies

Warning ! ! This will log you out of sites you're logged in to. You may also lose any settings for that website.

Type about:preferences<enter> in the address bar.

  • Cookies; Select Privacy. Under History, select

Firefox will Use Custom Settings. Press the button on the right side called Show Cookies. Use the search bar to look for the site. Note; There may be more than one entry. Remove All of them.

  • Cache; Select Advanced > Network.

[v57+] Select Privacy. Across from Cached Web Content, Press Clear Now.

If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Did this help?

While you are in safe mode;

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox. Since this feature was added to Firefox it has gradually improved but there are still a few glitches.

Thanks alot, FredMcD. Clearing my cache worked. I was wondering if it could have been a problem with cookies since I use the Cookie AutoDelete add-on and have Twitter whitelisted so then removed it in order to clear the cookies, but that did not work earlier. I'm glad I can continue using Firefox Quantum rather than going back to another browser since Quantum has worked perfectly for me up until now. Cheers!
