I want to go to the Preferences page, which I do a lot by the "ctrl+," shortcut on the Linux version of Firefox. I used to do that on my Mac with "cmd+,". It was really useful.

I tried to use the "Customizable Shortcuts" add-on but it did not provide me this setting.

How can I create a shortcut "ctrl+," that does the trick?

Thanks, Loick

Mac OS uses Cmd-, for Preferences, not Ctrl-,.

Type about:preferences<enter> in the address bar. Once the page is open, create a bookmark. Then move this bookmark to the Bookmarks Toolbar.

thanks FredMcD, that's a great workaround. Will do for now.

You can assign this code to a keyboard shortcut to open the about:preferences page.

  • openPreferences();
