I can't send emails from Thunderbird after I enabled two-step verification for the my Gmail account even after I generated an app-specific password from Google.

I've enabled two-step verification for my Gmail account and now Thunderbird won't send emails even though I've created an app-specific password. I can receive emails, however. Is there some step in configuring Thunderbird that I'm missing or with Gmail? Has anyone else had this problem and hopefully solved it?

loads of people have issues, most just give up on the silly two step authentication. But how exactly to make it work, only Google can say.

Have you replaced the SMTP password?
