Are Bookmarks and Favorites supposed to be the same in FF22?

I thought that all the Internet Shortcuts which are in Bookmarks are the same ones which show up in the Favorites folder under Documents and Settings but I see the one does not accurately reflect the other. Is that correct?

I would like all my Bookmarks to also be in my Favorites folder. Is there a way to do that?

Thanks!

hello cindy914, firefox stores its bookmarks in a separate database, so they have always been different than the favorites which are stored in your file-system and used by internet explorer. if you'd like to access your favorites from within firefox you'd have to use an addon like https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/plainoldfavorites/.

Thank you for your reply, Philip. I can see that when I click on the star in the address box, I a link to that website is added into my Bookmarks and when I right-click on a webpage and Create a deskCut, using that FF Add-On, the link gets put, for me, on my desktop and then I can then move it to the Favorites folder. So I guess, contrary to what I have read elsewhere, Bookmarks and Favorites are not the same thing.

My question, then, becomes is there a way to get all my Bookmark Internet Shortcut files into my Favorites folder? I prefer saving them as Favorites rather than as Bookmarks which results in an HTML file.
