Sounds like a compositor issue?

What version of OS? What Desktop? X11 or Wayland? What graphics card and driver version?

Try downloading Firefox from Mozilla. Download, unzip, and run firefox-bin from the folder and see if you have the same issue. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/#product-desktop-release

The window should repaint when you Alt+Tab to a different application.

Install Developer Edition (early beta) and you can recover from this situation by clicking the "Trigger Device Reset" button in about:support (when the problem occurs, the label appears as "gpu-device-reset" and the button as "undefined").

You are right, if I switch to another xfce workspace, then switch back to the workspace that contains Firefox, the page would repaint. Is this a known bug?

Just for S&Gs, I 'm curious to see how KDE or gnome perform compared to XFCE. Give it a try let me know.
