I am using Thunderbird Supernova and am pretty happy with it. However, I cannot figure out how to specify a different time zone than the system timezone when creating an event. For example, if I just bought a flight that departs at 4PM London time and I am in Miami when creating the event, how can I create this event without having to convert that time to my current time?

Surely this is possible but I can't figure out how. Thanks for any help!

Thanks. I was unable to find the "options/show timezones" option that you mentioned. Maybe the new event opens as a new tab in the existing Thunderbird window instead of its own window.

However, I was able to right click on the new event toolbar, choose "customize", and then I found the "show timezones" option. Added it to the toolbar, clicked it, and voila!

thanks again.

In the New Event window, Options/Show Timezones and then select Europe/London next to the start/end times.

The attached picture shows the Options menu, but adding the timezones button does the same thing.

thanks again. That's what the difference is. For some reason I don't get a menu. When I press "new event", a new tab opens instead of a new window, and it does not have its own menu. See screenshot. But anyway, I was able to add the button so I'm good.

Every one of these toolbar buttons should be enabled by default. Thanks so much for teaching me this!
