Hi

The best way is through syncing your data with a desktop copy of Firefox before syncing it across to your new mobile device.

This support article should help:

This . . . this is literally the exact article i came from and said wasn't clear. You've literally parroted the website without adding anything of substance or helping in any way. Are you just here for the clout?

Hi

I am not sure what you mean by "clout" an you did not mention which article you had seen.

Which parts of it are unclear?

Oh I'm sure you don't and the website literally only has a few articles on the subject, the most informative being that one and it only tells you how to sign into your account and activate syncing. It doesn't tell you if your syncing what you have with your profile or requesting that information or anything on how to actually USE syncing. What i and I'm guessing a fair few others want to know is how to directly save tabs, tab history, browser settings and addons on one phone and request that session from another phone and that article doesn't say anything about that and neither do any of the other articles.

The article does make clear the data that you can sync from Firefox for Android:

   Bookmarks
   Credit cards
   History
   Logins
   Open tabs

It tells you WHAT data can be synced. It does not tell you HOW to sync data To or FROM your device.

I recommend following the steps in that support article. Syncing happens automatically in the background once signed in.

No it doesn't. I've already tried.

Is your other device signed into the same Firefox Account?

Yes.

Hi

Hopefully I should be able to help you force a Sync event to take place.

Assuming you have connected the same Sync account on both your mobile copies of Firefox:

In Firefox on your old mobile device:

  1. Go into the Settings menu and select Firefox Account.
  2. Tap on Synchronise now.

This will “force” a synchronisation of the data that is on the local device storage.

Didn't do anything.

Okay. I recommend that you file a bug for our developers to look into this further for you. See File a bug report or feature request for Mozilla products for details.

Hi

As mentioned previously, not all those data types can be synced between devices.

Yeah backtracking isn't going to help you here. None of the data is syncing.

Okay. It is certainly worthwhile our developers looking into passwords and bookmarks not syncing for you.

and open tabs, and history, and credit cards (wouldn't want to forget those). Although i only care about the tabs and history.

Thank you. Our developers will be able to look into those for you as well.

If only directly talking to them was an option from the start. I hope you'll take what i said in our DMs to heart going forward.
