I used to double click on an html file and a window would open, I could them view the source and select all to copy and paste into my website. I had a pop-up to set up onedrive and it sounded like a good idea since I am not sure my backups are working. Now html files won't open in firefox at all. I can right click the html file and open with Chrome, view the source, but have to manually select all, copy and return to FF to finish updating my website. I believe this may be a Microsoft issue. I wondered if there was some solution to do this on FF. My next consideration would be to uninstall OneDrive, but don't know the ramifications to other applications. The path for files got all messed up when I installed OneDrive. I want my life back. I have spent hours on trying to find a solution. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I unlinked OneDrive and restarted my computer. The html files open normally in FF, but are opening from the OneDrive file path. Not sure if this will solve my problem when I update the files next week, the OneDrive files may be out of date. I can see the files in both OneDrive and on my computer, not sure if onedrive is just a backup or if there is linkage. I am going to uninstall OneDrive and try to get back to my normal process.

Thanks for your help.

Hi tprotani, where are the .html files saved? If they are saved on your computer, and you view them using File Explorer, then Windows settings control which application they open in. Those are the Default Apps settings.

If they are saved directly to OneDrive, the application you use to view the OneDrive list would be in control.
