Hi mattz.fudge, I'm going to guess this layout problem is not limited to printing to PDF, but also appears in the Print Preview screen which you can call up using either

  • "3-bar" menu button > Print
  • (menu bar) File > Print Preview

There are some known bugs in Firefox where the layout works properly on screen but when it comes to print, Firefox treats a block of content styled with certain rules as "unbreakable" and it just runs off the bottom of the page instead of being broken into multiple pages.

If that is the problem, you could consider trying a print-related add-on to tackle the problem. I maintain a basic one here:

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/printable-the-print-doctor/

For a more comprehensive editor, see:

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/print-edit-we/

Recently the developers have been increasing the priority on fixing some of the print bugs, so let's keep our fingers crossed that these workarounds won't be needed forever.

Thanks jscher. It does seem to be the issue. I've added printable print doctor and will try to see if I'm able to obtain a file of a multi-page document that is not corrupted.

Your speedy response and advice and insight is greatly appreciated
