Every few days I get a dialog box that says an update is available, I can either dismiss or download. There isn't any discernible difference in what happens when I click either button. Dismissing it doesn't matter, Firefox will always auto-update when it feels like it. Clicking the download button doesn't appear to do anything either... until the next day (or days later) when it tells me it needs to restart to complete the update.

Did it really take 24 hours to download the update? Or did the "download" button do nothing and it was actually the auto-update happening the next day?

I'm so so so so so so tired of my browsing session getting knee-capped and losing data. Is there any way for me to tell Firefox "yes, download and install the update, and do it right now" so I can be ready for it? Is there any way to see a progress bar somewhere so I can watch it happen and be ready for the restart?

After I accept updates for Firefox and all looks good, I must restart my laptop several times before I can use my bookmarks. Or sometimes I just have to turn the laptop on or off several times before everything gets back to normal.

Firefox is refusing to open sites I am trying to access from links in my protonmail email account. It is giving me a message saying the sites are potential threats. "pdpwbj.clicks.mlsend.com" is what it tells me is the problem.

This is something I do everyday without issue. It isn't limited to one source of emails/websites - it is all of them.

I have cleared cache and history already. Help please as I need to access these websites for my work and having to go to all the individual websites and then to search for the linked content is taking a lot of time I don't normally use because I can just load using the links.

Hi! I sometimes play 2 YouTube videos each in own browser. In FireFox it pauses the video in the browser not active. Is there a setting to keep both videos playing?

Good afternoon colleagues  have  a challenge when  visit website for library genesis http://libgen.rs/ to download a book  get the above response what can be the solution to get around this issue?Have tried in other browsers microsoft edge,chrome similar thing.

I have checked the "Always ask you where to save files" box in settings, but it is being ignored. I tried clearing the the "Save Files to" field, but that doesn't empty.

Can you (firefox dev team) team remove the fucking idiot features that auto my localhost domain to https? i typed 'localhost' and it's "https://localhost" i typed '127.0.0.1' and it's still "https:/127.0.0.1" i typed 'http://localhost' and it keep "https://localhost"

what the fucking idiot idea? i got that fucking isue over 2 years, through firefox and use chrome insteal, now i back with firefox but still got that fucking idiot thing?

I use Firefox Nightly 131, because it have vertical tabs, but why you still have a empty top bar? can I hide it?What's the difference between that and horizontal tabs? It takes up just as much space.

When I click on an email web link Firefox insists on opening a new profile rather than adding a tab to the existing page.

I cannot find any options to tell FF to open in the existing profile. This seems to be a relatively new happening.

I have a subscription to the FAZ and have always been able to read it in Firefox. Now that I have a new computer with the latest Windows 11 and the latest Firefox, I can no longer open the page https://zeitung.faz.net/. But it works fine in Google Chrome. Please tell me which settings I need to change so that I don't have to change browsers.

I am looking for a way to lock align a zoomed in site (when horizontal scroll bar is visible) to the right instead of default alignment to the left when I open next page.

Firefox 129.0 (64bit) - Windows 10 (with current updates)

Sometimes (except when I'm demonstrating the problem of course) a Google search simply hangs. In the search field (next to the shield & lock) the website for the search appears, eg https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=how+secure+are+android+phones or https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=nsw+service+parking+meter+app there is no other response and no activity in bottom left corner of the window.

Simply clearing history (history, cookies, cached files, but not site settings) fixes the problem and the search can then be repeated and new searches done until the next time, when it's a case of rinse & repeat. No other action is required, which would seem to suggest that the problem isn't elsewhere.

This problem affects both my wife's and my PC (same configs), and has for several weeks, sorry can't be more precise as to when it started.

i run Firefox Version 115.14.0esr (64-bit) on my older MacBook with OS 10.12.6, which I must use only to run Quicken for Mac 16.2.4. My other MacBook runs OS 14.6 and I would like to update Firefox on that machine, but keep all of the existing Firefox info. Can I update Firefox on the new Macbook and still keep the ESR version on the older machine, without losing all my history?y?

I've run through the steps (updating firefox, my macbook, checking if any of the extensions are interfering via troubleshoot mode) but Firefox still crashes. This came out of the blue and I'm unsure why it's suddenly doing this. Here's the report ID number.

I was working on a work site and every time I wanted to delete an item a pop up would appear asking if I wanted to confirm deleting. I was tired of confirming and there was a box offering to stop the pop up. I clicked it and now I can not delete anything. I checked settings and added the site to allow popups that did not help. How do I fix this?

I accidentally uninstalled the wrong version of Firefox on Windows 10. I uninstalled the Firefox Version I was using. Therefore, I need to get back my current version with my bookmarks. Is this possible? Does Mozilla Firefox keep these on a server somewhere I can download it from?

In the Add Bookmark menu that is accessed from the address bar, the field for adding a keyword shortcut is absent. This is the same menu that is accessed by Ctrl + D. It's ironic that the menu accessed via a keyboard shortcut is missing the field for adding a keyboard shortcut.

"Tags" field is present on all, but I find it orders of magnitude less useful than keywords.
