Hi firefox community,

I am using Firefox version 127.0.2 as my main browser on MacOS Sonoma 14.5. For the past few months, when using Firefox in Mac's full-screen mode, I've been experiencing an issue where one of the multiple open tabs unexpectedly displays in a separate window the moment I click on it.

This behavior didn't occur previously, and I believe it started happening about 3 months ago. It doesn't happen every time, but occurs a few times a day when I least expect it, making it difficult to identify the specific conditions that trigger it. I use a Magic Trackpad, and after switching to full-screen using the three-finger gesture, the moment I try to activate a specific tab, that tab alone displays as a separate window in full-screen mode.

Is it possible that a Firefox version update has changed this behavior? If this is a Firefox issue, is there a way to capture debug logs to have the developers investigate it?

Alternatively, if there's an option to prevent tabs from opening in new separate windows, that would be an effective workaround. Could you please let me know if such an option exists?

Best regards,

Hey there,

during work I often open two windows of Firefox to have more information visible on my two monitors. Unfortunately I sometimes forget that I have a second window open, so I close only my "main" window and loose all tabs.

Is there a way to force Firefox to ask to close a window and loosing multiple tabs for every window open?

Right now this only happens for the last open window.

PS: I just found out about the keyboard shortcut of restoring a window (CTRL+SHIFT+N) recently. I would prefer a setting in my case.

Thanks in advance Fred

SORT YOUR [removed] OUT!!!!!!! yes im on windows, yes im up to date, yes ive tried resetting ur web browser, yes i have a [removed] folder with "old firefox data" on my descktop i cant use, yes ur web browser is a piece of [removed], yes i will be uninstalling this [removed] shortly. sadly i still remember the day firefox was king...... o how the mighty have fallen..

Sometimes drag functionality stops working. I can't grab a tab to move it to another position or to a new window. (Holding left click on the tab and moving the cursor does nothing). Also, re-merging the tab with another firefox window stops working. (Dragging a tab to a firefox window from another firefox window doesn't merge them. It does nothing) I can right click on the tab and select Move to move it to a new window but dragging stops working. I have to close Firefox and start it again (sometimes twice), then dragging starts working again. This happens multiple times a day. I am on Linux Mint and the version is 126.0 (64-bit). This problematic behavior has only recently began.

Hello, I closed my browser, expecting it to save my current tabs as it usually does. When I reopened it, the tabs were gone. They were important for me, and some of them were pretty old so I can't find them in my history. I tried checking the "recently closed tabs" option, it didn't help. There was also no option to restore the previous session. Can you help me restore my lost tabs?

It seems firefox has changed the behavior of tabs. When I go to open a closed tab, I see a list of all the tabs that have been closed from every window. I want to restore the previous behavior where "recently closed tabs" only shows the tabs that were closed in the current window. I saw some about:config settings, but I'm not sure what they do and I don't want to end up losing the tab history all together.

Thanks

Hello All!

I have recently tried to use Firefox View button in order to quickly open pages that I have opened on my Android device, however I found that only some (random) portion of the tabs appear in the Firefox View under [tabs from other devices/my android device].

Is there any way I can change that behaviour? This is renedring the Firefox View kind of pointless, as I still have to open my phone to check whether there was maybe one more important page that I wanted to check out, that was not listed in the Firefox View on my PC. At that point, I could very well just see what were I at, on the android device, and just google stuff again. The mixed approch (some opened via Firefox View and some manually) is more time consuming than either of the approaches alone, so I would really appreciate help, as Firefox View seemed to be a time-saver - I believe I have something set erroneously somwhere. Thanks!

I am on firefox 125.0.3. 64-bit.

Now, I have to click into the search bar to type. That's annoying.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Hey there, I had two windows in firefox open, one of which had a lot of tabs. I was using firefox on my surface pro, and then got up to get a snack. I came back, and the window, which I had been using for some time, was gone. The other window was still open, and firefox had not been closed. I thought I would just open it up by restoring recently closed window, but it was gone. I routinely clear my history, but even tabs that I just had open 5 minutes ago are missing from my history, like I never opened them in the first place. What is going on?
