When I enter a password for a website, the "Would you like to remember the password ..." dialog box appears, but when I click on the button it blinks but the box doesn't close. There are no passwords being stored, according to Password Manager. If I return to the same page I get the password prompt, confirming passwords are not getting stored. Windows 7 64-bit, FF 19.0.2. Any ideas?

Hello DaleTD, if you have not stored passwords inside password manager, delete the key3.db file, in profile folder, and delete the signons.sqlite file (also in profile folder).

Also be sure that you not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

Deleting the profile password files fixed the problem. Thanks!
