I have just upgraded my Galaxy s2 handset to Android 4.1.2 (Samsung firmware) XWLSD and my wifes handset.

On both handsets Google Chrome and Stock Browser can download files, but firefox can't download any files. I can browse fine, but nothing downloads (like PDF's, Mp3, ePub etc).

The firefox download manager shows nothing in its downloads. I am currently running Firefox 19.0 for Android.

How are you trying to download? Many times, Firefox tries to open what you want instead of downloading. What error message do you get when trying to download?

I've done a bit more testing, and I think its site specific. The site (www.jw.org) normally launches PDF's, mp3, m4b, epub in a new window to download and its not working on Firefox.

I just tried opening a washing machine PDF manual and its working fine, an mp3 file played automatically in Firefox from another site.

So I think it might be problems with the way the site is presenting the downloads to the browser.

On Firefox Aurora and Nightly we've added the ability to save media by long-tap holding on the playing content and selecting 'Save Audio' and 'Save Video'. This will be added into Firefox 21.
