Having just downloaded and upgraded to Firefox 4 I cannot see how to access the Roboform Toolbar that I have always used with Firefox.

Hi Everyone

Hope this helps....I had the same problem as most of those folks posting.

My Firefox 3.?.? whatever it was was running really slow and stopping on a regular basis with (not Responding) messages. Tried everything to rectify then gave up and upgraded to FF 4.

Then my problems started with tabs upstairs instead in the usual place AND Roboform not working at all....Pain or What.

Googled and ended up here. I was running Roboform 6.10.1 so took the advice of one of the above Posters and upgraded to Roboform 6.10.2.. Didn't work initially so I had to reinstall but eventually got FF running again. At first the Roboform Tool bar stays the same with NO logins Save, Generate, Sync stuff showing so I loaded a couple of tabs and logged in to a couple of sites by manually entering my User Id and Password. Then the Tool Bar with all the relevant bits appeared and remained throughout my session.

Being a sceptic I did the same this morning and at first only the shortened Roboform Tool bar appeared as before. So again loaded up a couple of tabs, logged into a couple of sites manually and the full RoboForm tool came back again....

I did not fiddle about with any addons just did the upgrade to 6.10.2 then the shutdown and restart..It's early days but seems to have worked, my FF (Not Responding) problems have not returned, my FF speed has markedly improved and I got my RForm ToolBar back in a fashion without having to shell out money for RForm 7...Cheeky or What.

I hope this helps other folks tearing there hair out with this stuff.

RoboForm..we really do not need all unnecessary aggravation given the fact we have already PAID for our Licences...

Too much of a problem! I went back to FireFox 3.6 and everything is back to normal. What a nightmare. You should just scrap Firefox 4. WAAAAY too many problems!

Hey,

I too was having problems with this, but I figured it out.

Download This: http //www.multiupload.com/ UKVEJCVHF7

Simply extract to your Firefox 4's extensions folder.

For me, I am running Pale Moon 4, so the correct folder structure is:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Pale Moon\extensions\{22119944-ED35-4ab1-910B-E619EA06A115}

I am also running RoboForm Version 7.0.73 Portable which is the last version 7 build that still uses version 6 registration info. :)

Benefit of beta testing, knowing which builds use what. ;)

It works fine, but the toolbar's background is black, so it looks funky.

Hopefully fixed in the next toolbar build, and hopefully sooner than later.

Hope that helps,

Will

I did the same. Downgraded firefox to 3.6 to be able to use roboform 6 I will not pay for the upgrade to roboform version 7. Hope Firefox developers can fix in order to keep Firefox 4 compatible with olders roboform adaptors.

Upgraded to FireFox 4. RoboForm V6 did not work. Installed RoboForm 7 (free). All works well. No copying of files. It just works.

By law, all purchasers of RoboForm 1-6 get free upgrades for life. Purchasers of RoboForm V7+ have to pay for upgrades.

BFDad, just curious, what law is that?

I think we all know that firefox 4 and RF 7 "All work well". With all due respect, I don't think that's the issue here...

Just for a clarification: As posted before, see original sell from RF from way back when, "Why Buy RoboForm Pro":

http://classic-web.archive.org/web/20051129012705/www.roboform.com/why-pro.html

I, bought mine back in 2003 with maybe version 3.x or so along with thousands of others. Note: "free upgrades"

         "Fast and Efficient Support"
"Instant Delivery. Activate RoboForm Pro in 5 seconds."

Doesn't say anything about RoboForm Pro version 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9... They sold it as Free Upgrades for life to everyone! Now they have changed their mind I guess. Not sure if just changing your mind makes it a law or not, I don't think so...

BFDad I'm still waiting till mid- May to see if those who have installed version 7, or the fix that involves v.7, have it canceled or not after the 30 day free trial period. If so, I'll just try out KeePass or return to Firefox 3.6 to keep Roboform working, since it seems rather obvious they are not going to honor their promise of free upgrades to those of us who purchased previous versions. The most they offered me was one free year of version 7, but then I'd have to pay for it every year after that. No thanks!

Like everyone I am a little disillusioned by Siber systems. I would be prpared to buy the full v7 version except I worry how long before they pull the same trick again?

Does anyone know : Is it still possible to export roboform data to KeyPass? see :

http://www.ehow.com/how_7301153_convert-roboform-keepass-xp.html

Does KeyPass autofill?

How good is KeyPass fer Blackberry?

Thanks!

Greedy Siber get no more money from me.. THANKS to MeOminG... After rereading the last last sentence and removing the Roboform 7.x toolbar extension from Mozilla 4 via the Tools > add-ons it works perfectly.

This is the quick and easy solution...10 min max

"actually there is a workaround. all credits to swmyp from ru -board

(uninstall current version of roboform here...All Programs > AI Roboform > Uninstall)
   Install Roboform 7.2.x
   Copy Firefox folder "c:\Program Files\Siber Systems\AI RoboForm\Firefox\"
(uninstall Roboform 7.2.x here...All Programs > AI Roboform > Uninstall)
Install Roboform 6.10.2 -dont untick option to install adapter for firefox
   Replace Firefox folder
   "c:\Program Files\Siber Systems\AI RoboForm\Firefox\" with your copy from 7.2.x version

now u should have working 6.10.2 roboform with latest adapter from 7.2.x

If toolbar didnt appear right away after restart, remove Roboform toolbar extention from add-ons." Mozilla 4 via the Tools > add-ons

Finally I decided to try the workaround posted here by MeOminG and repeated in the post above, including removing the addon mentioned in the final sentence. With my Win 7 x32 it worked oki for me with Robo 6.10.1, using the file from 7.2.8. Also I wanted to see if the same workaround would work with Opera, too, since there is also an Opera folder below the Firefox one in 7.2.8, but replacing the folder in Robo 6 didn't seem to work. No matter, since I use Firefox for most websites that require a login. It's probably just a matter of time before Siber finds a way to block such workarounds and hold us oldtimers hostage for an annual ransom, after initially promising free upgrades. http://classic-web.archive.org/web/20080822215550/www.roboform.com/why-pro.html Shame on them! Roboform = Robberyform.

I followed the instructions to get Robo V6 to appear in my FF browser, but now when I click the autofill icon on the toolbar nothing happens. Robo V6 works fine in IE8. Anyone else having this problem?

Anyone got a suggestion?

Go to the Roboform Firefox page at http://www.roboform.com/platforms/browsers/firefox

Scroll down about half the page and you will see the file link roboform-firefox-3-4-frozen.xpi. Click it, allow Firefox 4 to install it and Roboform will automatically install the 7.2.3 adapter to let Roboform Ver. 6 work with Firefox 4.

They are not publicizing this as they would rather you spend your hard earned money and upgrade to Ver 7, but it works and is their official fix.

You can also try navigating your Start/All Programs menu to the Roboform entry and clicking Taskbar Icon after Firefox is up and running. This seems to kickstart Roboform.

Damn, this is frustrating. I had followed AllisWell's instructions and got the proper icons to appear, but clicking on the Autofill icon did nothing.

Was happy to see Phantom's work around and tried it. Now the Autofill icon is gone and replaced by the Roboform Toolbar icon. Clicking that takes me to the roboform page to download V7. Right back where I started.

Can anyone help with this? Please don't force me to go back to IE...

Hi everybody, I am in the same boat with a slight difference: I am using the portable version = RoboForm2Go Any idea how to set the workaround for this version? TYIA

Here's The Fix ( see alliswell's post above, and smoo's post on the website Windows Secrets):

1. Install Roboform 7.2.7

2. Copy folder "c:\Program Files\Siber Systems\AI RoboForm\Firefox\" to another location

3. Install Roboform 6.10.2 -dont untick option to install adapter for firefox (alliswell posted that you need to first uninstall V7.2.7, but I just installed 6.10.2 over the previous installation)

4. Replace "c:\Program Files\Siber Systems\AI RoboForm\Firefox\" with your copy from 7.2.7 version.

Now you should have working 6.10.2 roboform with latest adapter from 7.2.7

Thanks alliswell and smoo for your tip on getting Roboform V6.10 to work with the latest Firefox V4. I've followed your instructions, and It works even for the newest Firefox (V5). I too was surprised and disappointed when I discovered what I thought was a free upgrade to the latest Roboform for paid users of V6 turned out to be 30 day TRIALWARE. I have read some posts that side with Siber System's decision to end support of Roboform V6 for FirefoxV4 and later, arguing that they should not be compelled to honor "lifetime" licenses for all future releases of the browser. They may have a point, but the way Siber Systems went about marketing the upgrade to previous license holders was deceptive at least. So, if there is a way to continue using Roboform V6 (and benefit from the improvements of the latest version of Firefox) without paying this company another penny, I'm in favor of spreading the word.

As for dumping Roboform altogether, I've heard of security breaches for other password management programs (e.g.: LastPass Password Manager) that store the info remotely ("in the cloud"), so I prefer to keep my passwords encrypted AND stored locally, as I believe is the case for Roboform V6.

Thanks again for your help.

If your roboform Toolbar is BLACK in the background and text, I finally found a fix that worked on https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/799644?s=roboform+color&as=s

In FF4, go to Options > Advanced > General tab

In the "Browsing" segment of the window, UN-CHECK the "use hardware acceleration when available" box.

Click "OK" and restart Firefox.

The Roboform toolbar should now be the same color as your Theme or Persona.

Best solution yet for RoboForm...Get rid of Mozilla and go back to IE until RoboForm honors their license agreement of free upgrades. Works great in IE just don't upgrade or you might encounter the same issues.

Nice workaround (MeOminG) for Firefox 4! I also verified that this same technique works with Firefox 5, but you need to use Roboform adapter 7.3.2 (at least- this is the one I verified) so that Firefox 5 accepts the adapter abe being compatible. Other than that, just follow MeOminG's procedure.

more options

And likewise, for Firefox 6 you can also use this same procedure as long as you install the Roboform adapter that is compatible with Firefox 6- and that happens to be at least Roboform 7.4.1. After that, go back to Roboform 6.10.2 and all is well.
