I have been experiencing certain tabs crashing upon loading for some time now. I have been searching for a solution without any success. I tried using the debugging tool but I can't find a way to exit debugging & return to my normal Firefox 124.0.1 desktop page.

Hi Brad, was it Troubleshoot Mode? If you quit Firefox and start it up normally, then it shouldn't go to Troubleshoot Mode. Or is it telling you at startup that there is a problem?

Is the tab crash on a page that is being restored from a previous session, or a page displayed by an add-on, or your designated home page?

I have been looking for a reason for some of my Firefox tabs crashing whenever I clicked on them. I was looking for an answer in "Remote Debugging" & quickly learned that this was above my knowledge level so I am looking to exit this & return to the normal Firefox browser.

You can disable remote debugging in the settings for the developer tools. If you open the panel using Command+Shift+i, then in the right corner click the "3-dot" menu button, then Settings, the checkbox will be toward the lower right.

My tab crashing issue started after updating Firefox a few months ago. After one update my VPN wouldn't allow me to connect to the internet on some sites, then the next Firefox update resulted in tabs for certain websites crashing when I click on them. I have been a Firefox user for years now without any issues. I have contacted Firefox support, my Private Internet Access VPN support about these issues but their response was that no others had reported these issues....not much usable help from either support team.

I.m not having much luck here....."open the panel using Command+Shift+i". I have tried this several times but I must be doing something wrong. I have tried this in screens with no expected response, the panel opening........Do I need to click on "More tools....Web Developer Tools" first?

I get to where I see "Advanced Settings", scroll down & I see that "enable remote debugging is unchecked. Maybe I just need to reload my previous tabs that open from my previous session.

I think that reloading those tabs that work is my answer. Thank you! I will continue to search for an answer to why some of my commonly used websites repeatedly crash while others load normally. Thank you again!
