I am asking this as this was suggested in one of the online discussions, but I cannot find my webmail nor the junk settings / spam folder on the server, other than what I see in my regular email box and settings.

This is specific to your email account. For example, if your email is gmail, the website is gmail.com, or if AOL, the it's mail.aol.com. That will let you see all of your mail folders. On Thunderbird, you can specify what folders to view by going to accounts, then your account, then Synchronization, then the Advanced button. It may be that you do not have junk or span folder selected for viewing.
