From all types of sites. It is also happening from google searches. It seems to be completely random. I've tried clearing my recent searches and cache.

google is search engine. It seems to happen when i do multiple searches in one tab. Again, if i open another tab and search, it will work. The search terms don't matter. It happens from both google search links as well as hyperlinks in pages. Very strange.

Are you using a proxy or VPN?

You can check the connection settings.

  • Settings -> General -> Network: Connection -> Settings

If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then try to select "No Proxy" if "Use the system proxy settings" or one of the others do not work properly.

See "Firefox connection settings":
