Auto fill on Apps no longer works after losing Lockwise

I use Firefox to store all my usernames and passwords. Since I have them saved and synced, I use the complex passwords suggested by Firefox. This worked great when we had Lockwise to fill in apps on my phone but no longer. When we were told Lockwise would be going away I asked here how that would work. I was told that I just need to turn on auto-fill apps option in Firefox and in the Android settings. Done. Works about 10% of the time. I get the notice to unlock Firefox but when I do, that's it - nothing gets filled in, no option, no nothing. I try holding on the field, tapping the field, nothing works. Occasionally it will fill in the password but not the user name - I can live with that - but most of the time nothing. This makes life very difficult since I'm using those very complex and random passwords for everything. You can't even look at it and then go fill it in - who could remember all that?! Can this PLEASE get fixed or bring back the Lockwise app?!

Hi

If you search in the Android settings app for "Auto-fill service", is Firefox for Android the listed application?

Yes - Firefox is on the list and is the option selected.

Well, it's on the Apps not in the browser. I use the Firefox browser and it seems to work okay even though I don't use it that much, it's when I use an app that it's stopped working.

Hi

Do you have a lockscreen passcode set on your device?

Hi Do you have a lockscreen passcode set on your device?

Sure. It asks me to unlock Firefox when I get to something that needs sign in, but when I do that's it. It doesn't fill anything in or give the sign in options on the bottom like it used to.

Hi Lee

I am sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I have had a look into this and it appears that there are some issues that our developers are looking into with regards to this feature. You can track progress on these and leave comments at:

Okay - thanks. At least I know it's not just me and it's not something I'm doing wrong.  :)
