Hello Firefox community and thank you for your time and effort. Let me begin by saying I used to have this same issue with MS operating systems until I said goodbye to MS and went to Linux on one laptop and got a Mac for streaming and graphics. Here is the issue: MS had so many background processes running constantly, regardless of what I was using the machine for, that I regularly experienced crashes, warnings and slowed responses on my Windows machines. No matter how vigilant I was about settings and stopping processes and keeping system clean, I would regularly have to replace the fan on my machines as the constant overheating would eventually kill the fans. That has not been a problem since I made that switch away from MS. Until now. I keep clean machines and keep them updated religiously. But with the latest few Firefox updates the problem is now back on both my Linux built Lenovo and my MacBook Pro, especially the Mac. That regularly shuts down after an hour of streaming use. When I hear the fan constantly struggling and feel the machines heating up I check the background processes and find that Firefox has at least four running processes eating up resources. Force stop does not fix the resource hogging; by the time it is apparent and I respond the machine is already overheated and shuts itself down. Last night I started searching and found a (very) recent thread about this same issue. Most of the participants were attributing it to recent updates. If this is the case is there any effort to fix this? I would hate to have this issue completely destroy my older (but still heavily relied upon) MacBook with this constant mechanical challenge since I cannot afford to replace it. Please can you fix this problem. It is an old and exhausting struggle I thought I would not have to deal with again. If my assumption of the source of the problem is inaccurate do you have any suggestions? Thanks again, Jerri

A couple of months ago I discovered that I no longer have the ability to edit, delete, or dismiss a shortcut from the home page of my desktop. I did read that the 3 dots will appear if I hover over a shortcut. I tried that several times on different shortcuts but the 3 dots never appeared. Is there another way to edit, delete, or dismiss a shortcut? Or even better is there a way to restore the 3 dots?

I cleared my cookies, cache, history and data like I was told to when I connected a new router so all of my shortcuts have changed. A few that are there now I don't want and I do want to add several new ones.

For years I have used Firefox as my preferred internet browser, and most of the time it's OK. Recently, however, when trying to log on to my bank accounts, I get the message "Log on error. You need to enable cookies in your browser to logon to Internet Banking." How do I do this? In the meantime I am using another browser and can log on successfully there.

Dear Sir, we are unable to get plugin JAVA TM PLATFORM SE8U341 for running digital key. i have requisite software installed in my system. Please guide. I have attached screenshot regarding the same.

I am attempting to copy values from one google sheet to another and am unable to do so effectively as whenever I press crtl +shift + c I open the the developer tools. All my efforts on looking for a solution have lead me to unsupported extensions so I'm stuck wondering what to do.

In Windows 10, Audible throws this error:

Other browsers are fine. Other media in Firefox such as BBC Sounds are fine. I cleared the history, then reset Firefox. I thought it might be an issue with the latest Realtek driver, but I could not roll back all Realtek drivers. So I installed an Asus DS Xonar 7.1 PCI soundcard. This shows exactly the same problem.

All of a sudden I can't access Lowe's or Home Depot web sited from my browser. I get the following message-

Also, the developer drawer Console tab issues this error before being redirected to x.com/account/access:

I think the HTML that loads in Firefox is corrupted or tampered.

Could I get some feedback?

I visited about:support for the first time today, and I notice a list of Add-ons I was unaware of (i.e. I did not installed these), and I have questions.

Some of these made me think about the search shortcuts I see in Firefox's search setting:

Are these preinstalled in the Firefox browser? What is their function? Are the search shortcuts and these add-ons associated?

I deleted Firefox to re-install it after playing with profiles and that not working how I wanted it to (yet). I uninstalled the app from the applications and the library on my Mac and reinstalled Firefox. Now when I open Firefox it says that it's up and running but no windows actually open up for me. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it again and it still won't open windows. I have to force quit Firefox as nothing shows up in my top tool bar to even show Firefox as open.

How can I get Firefox to actually install and be functioning on my computer again?

Running (as of an hour ago) macOS 14.5 (was using previous up to date OS when I installed Firefox again.

When I open Firefox (with administrative privileges) lt won't stay open, it just looks like it going to load my previous season (at least that's what should happen), but after a few seconds it just stops and closes, all at once? Also, I should mention; Firefox is updated, Using Windows 10. I've tried to trouble shoot a little . . .

Now, at one point it did open, and I decided to refresh Firefox (removing extensions and restoring to default settings) by going to 'More troubleshooting information' option, then clicking the Refresh Firefox button. Closed it, restarted my laptop, and Firefox, added my usual extension / add-on. (I was thankfully able to save my bookmarks or back them up).

When I was done, I closed it. But when I try to open Firefox, lt won't stay open, it just looks like it going to load my previous season, but after a few seconds it just stops and closes?

Should I just remove Firefox all together from my laptop, and reinstall it??

Hi, I don't know if this is a problem or not, but my Inbox says I have 2 unread messages but I can't seem to find them. They usually show up in bold to alert me that they are unread, but I cannot find these messages at all and don't know where to look for them. This happened once before and I discovered that they were embedded in a thread that someone had replied to but didn't show up to where I could easily see it. I had to search through all my threads to find it. I am only having this problem on my computer running Windows 11. My ipad shows everything as being read. Any help would b appreciated. Thank you,

Soooo! everytime I try to open cloudflare, no matter what site it comes from, the connection refuses to go through and I'm only having this problem on firefox, I came from opera gx, had no problems with cloudflare till now!

Im using 4 extensions DarkReader Adblock https://getadblock.com/en/installed/?u=uzzl0uyf19852316&lg=en-US&an=adblockfirefox&av=6.2.0&ap=firefox&apv=126.0.1&p=gecko&pv=126.0 Return youtube dislike Tapermonkey I click the box to Verify that I am human on cloudflare keeps trying to connect, after 30 seconds the site just reloads asking me to click the box again. this repeats non stop.

The behavior began with fifteen to twenty crash messages appearing. After which the browser would stop responding and be unable to reach out to the internet.

Network connectivity was confirmed as I was able to access my VPN and corporate teams.

I submitted as many crash reports as I could. Eventually the crash reporter ceased to function. The message is:

Firefox had a problem and crashed. Unfortunately, the crash reporter is unable to submit a report for this crash.

Only a full reboot of the machine restored functionality but only temporarily. It returns after being put into sleep mode.

Running firefox in safe mode does not restore functionality. The behavior persists.

I am fully up to date according to firefox.

I am running a Lenovo Thinkpad Windows 11.

I've been banging my head against a wall trying to figure this one out. Every time a video plays on youtube, reddit, etc it will show normal colors for a split second then it will darken it and wash out the colors. Not sure what is causing this.

Things I've tried: gfx.color_management.native_srgb to true in about:config Changing video settings in nvidia control panel Turning off hardware acceleration Restarting browser and PC Updating browser and video drivers, windows as well Turning off all extensions Trying with codecs both deactivated and reactivated

No other browser does this and ALSO when I run firefox in private mode it doesn't happen and videos run normally. Also when I try to record or take a screenshot of it it looks normal. Thank you for any assistance.
