There is a function in Firefox that is resizing my images automatically. How do I turn it off?
When my high speed internet provider no longer allowed the use of Internet Explorer 9 on there @optonline.net web site I had a choice of Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome. I chose to use Mozilla Firefox. I immediately noticed that my pictures were being cropped and that's outgoing and incoming pictures and my screesaver picture was also cropped.
This is very annoying and it makes it difficult to communicate. I was told by my high speed internet provider Optimum looked up the issue and she told me there was nothing she could fix because it had to do with an automatic "resizing" feature of Mozilla Firefox.
This past Weds. Internet Explorer was allowed back on the Optimum site and after fixing all of the features that I needed to communicate I saw that the Firefox resizing issue went over to Internet Explorer also. Please, does anyone know how to turn off this Firefox automatic picture resizing? I know it must be simple but it's got me baffled.

Firefox has absolutely nothing to do with your screen saver or the display of images in Internet Explorer.
When viewing a large standalone image — like this one — Firefox will shrink it to fit the screen. You can left-click the image to show it in its original size. If you want to disable this feature,
- Type about:config into the address bar and press Enter.
- Press the big button to bypass the warning.
- In the search box, paste browser.enable_automatic_image_resizing
- In the search results, double-click browser.enable_automatic_image_resizing to set its value to false.
I'm not sure what you mean. Images aren't cropped in any way by Firefox in that part of the image gets lost. Firefox will resize a larger image automatically to make it fit in the current Firefox window. Hovering such an image will show a zooming icon that you can click to see the image in full size and that you can scroll. Note that if you set browser.enable_automatic_image_resizing to false that large images show in their original size, so you won't see the full image.
Make sure that you do not run Firefox in compatibility mode.
You can open the Properties of the Firefox desktop shortcut via the right-click context menu and check the "Compatibility" tab.
Make sure that all items are deselected in the "Compatibility" tab of the Properties window.

It's labeled "I'll be careful, I promise!". If you previously opened about:config and unchecked "Show this warning next time", then it won't appear again.

You will if you scroll. And you can always left-click a large image in original size to shrink it down to screen size.
I did everything you said but my problem still remains. I've been using Internet Explorer 9 since it became available. Several months back my high speed internet provider said, that I wasn't going to able to use any version of Internet Explorer.
One of the choices was Mozilla Firefox, so I started using that browser because it was closer to Internet Eplorer but one of the 1st things I noticed was that all the pictures going out and coming in were being re-sized. I just assumed that this is the way that Firefox worked.
About 2-weeks ago I could start using my Internet Explorer 9 again. The 1st thing that I noticed was now Internet Explorer was re-sizing the pictures. Now, I don't understand how this happened, at all.
I "unchecked" both of the re-sizing boxes in Firefox and Internet Explorer and it didn't do a darn thing, so now I have Internet Explorer 9 re-szing all of my pictures. I just don't get how Internet Explorer 9 picked-up this bad habit. I don't know what to do and I hate the re-sizing because I've never used the re-sizing featore for the past 8-years. Got any good ideas?

What does that mean? Are you viewing standalone images, images on a regular web page, images in a webmail site like Outlook, or something else? Attach a screenshot of the problem.
Is your page zoom level set very low? Hold down Ctrl and press 0 (that's zero) to reset it.

What resizing boxes in Firefox?
Is your ISP compressing images to speed up the loading?
If that is the case then there is usually a script included to expand images on demand (e.g. via Shift+R)
What are the connection settings?
- Tools > Options > Advanced > Network : Connection > Settings
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then try the "No Proxy" setting if "Use the system proxy settings" or one of the others do not work properly.

I'm going to download Internet Explorer 11 and I'm going to forget about the resizing issue for a while. It's driving me nuts!!
