Until recently, my version(s) of Firefox had a really handy bar with lots of website icons, like Amazon.com, weatherchannel, craigslist, and on and on. They could be deleted and added to. I don't know what the official name of that bar was, but no one seems to be mentioning it in the blogs I've seen. I feel like I've entered the twilight zone and have no way to even ask how to get back home. Was I just dreaming about that website icon bar???? How can I get it back? Thanks!!!

Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"

  • If items are missing then open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"
  • If a missing item is in the toolbar palette then drag it back from the Customize window on the toolbar
  • If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar set up.

Thanks for trying, but none of your suggestions seems to have to do with the whole toolbar containing dozens of websites, including YouTube, Netflix, Craigslist, WeatherChannel, Amazon, etc., etc. etc. that came with the version of Firefox that I used to have. It was incredibly useful...and now I can't find a way to restore it, nor is anyone else even commenting on the problem. Again, I wonder what planet I'm on. Anyone else care to at least confirm that this IS an issue with their version of Firefox as well? Misery does love company, if not palliation. Thanks.

Check that the Bookmarks Toolbar is visible and that the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is still placed on the Bookmarks Toolbar.

If the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the Bookmarks Toolbar then drag it back from the toolbar palette in the customize window to the Bookmarks Toolbar

If you do not see the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" or other items that are missing in the toolbar palette or on a toolbar then click the "Restore Default Set" button

Thanks again.

I haven't been complaining about not having a Bookmarks Toolbar. I have it and it's full of stuff that I use and add to every day. What I have been missing is the original toolbar with dozens and dozens of website homepage icons (not bookmarks that I'd chosen, but that came originally with the Firefox application). Are you implying that I am merely referring to the Bookmarks Toolbar? If so, I am really confused, since for a long time they were entirely separate toolbars, as I recall, unless I am imagining things.

There isn't an icon labeled "Bookmarks Toolbar items" in the toolbar palette or on the Bookmarks Toolbar. There is an icon labeled "Bookmarks" there, and I dragged it to the bookmarks toolbar, and all it does is let me see the bookmarks in a dropdown menu.
