We are wanting to use the latest TB 68.1 and we are still working on getting some older client machines off of XP and Outlook Express. We started off using 52.6 and it has an option to import email from Outlook Express however it looks like this was removed in 68.1. Was this an oversight or has it been removed for good? I cannot seem to find any documentation on the matter, thanks for any help!

The import wizard only works when the source app (Outlook Express) is installed on the same computer as TB. Since WXP doesn't support TB higher than v. 52, there wouldn't be a case of TB 60 or 68 and Outlook Express on the same computer. Still, you can import eml files from Outlook Express to TB 68 by drag and drop from an Explorer window to a subfolder of Local Folders in TB, or with the ImportExportTools NG add-on.

How we were doing it before did not require us to have Outlook Express installed. We had Firefox 52.6 installed on our new Windows 10 Computers and we transferred the .dbx files from the Windows XP computers over to the new Windows 10 Computers. Then we could select the Import function from the Tools menu, select Outlook Express, and then point to the Directory on the new Windows 10 computer where the .dbx files were transferred to. This would then import all of the Folders and messages to a new Local Folder in TB called Outlook Express. The Outlook Import option is the one that makes you have the corresponding Program Installed but with the Outlook Express option all you had to do was point to the .dbx files. I have tried ImportExportTools NG, however it does not work with Outlook Express .dbx files. It does work for clients that are running Windows 7 and Windows Live Mail so we are using it for those clients. Moving them via dragging and dropping the .eml files is too time consuming as some of these clients have over 10 GB of email and 100s of different folders. For now we will just downgrade our Version back to 52.6 use the Built in Import function for Outlook Express and once completed Upgrade them back to 68.1. Thanks for trying!

It's known that IET NG doesn't import dbx files from OE, but it's news to me that the import wizard in TB 52 imports them in the absence of OE. That option is not mentioned in the mozillazine article - which is odd, because many users would have been switching from OE to TB when Windows XP reached its end of life.
