why is there a lock on my email address, and why are a lot of my imported emails not displaying?
I got a new computer, downloaded the Mozilla program, it installed correctly, it downloaded all my emails, folders etc, but now when I go to read these emails, there is no data, and also wondering why there is a lock shown on my email account (first tab just above the local folder)

The padlock icon simply denotes an account that connects using a secured connection (i.e. SSL or TLS). This is now commonplace, particularly with Gmail, gmx, outlook/Hotmail etc. I would imagine that the padlock has always been there and has no relevance to your current problem, unless you have been "adjusting" your account settings.
Make sure you're set to View|Folders|All, and that the QuickFilter bar doesn't have any of its filters switched on.
