Hello there... I used to be able to click on a .URL shortcut in Windows and Firefox (whether or not it was actually running) would open up and go right to the page I desired.

Now, it ALWAYS opens up the "home" page. This is *really* annoying.

Does anyone know what the problem might be?

This is usually a problem with the set up of the default browser (registry keys missing or corrupted).
You can try to 'redo' the default browser and temporarily set another browser as the default.
