Firefox 14.0. on MAC OSX 10.6.8. Starting last week a popup screen keeps coming back after being canceled asking what Firefox should do with this file. Choices are cancel or OK. OK choices are Open with----- or Save file. Popup comes back even after being canceled. How do I get rid of this?

A possibility is that Firefox tries to retrieve data (files) from an ad-server and that for some reason that request get changed ()i.e. the GET data ?xxx=xxx) is removed from the request.

Do you have any security software running that might modify such requests or can block specific content?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Cor-el, Thanks for the info. Sorry I did not get back sooner but had a death in the family and was away. Have not had the pop-up in the last few days so it appears to be solved. Before the pop-up occured several times a day. Thanks again, Jim
