I am using Thunderbird 52.4.0 (64bit) with the Lightening calendar add-on.

On my Samsung galaxy s8 phone I have both Samsung calendar and Google calendar. To sync one of these (preferably the Samsung one), I need an add-on but the only one available is for Google and that has not been verified according to the message I get. It cannot be installed.

So, unless you have a solution I cannot use Lightening, therefore cannot use Thunderbird and consequently would not use Firefox.

You don't need any addon to sync Google Calendar to Lightning, since the CalDav protocol, which both recognise, is built into Lightning.

See the section on CalDav here: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Calendar:Using_Lightning_with_Google_Calendars

Having said that, I've had no problems with using Provider For Google Calendar. Where does it tell you it is not verified?

Firefox is external to Thunderbird and quite separate. There's no reason to stop using Firefox on account of a calendar sync issue in Thunderbird.

You're unlikely to find a solution for the Samsung calendar, or the phone generally, as they don't write sync tools for email clients such as Thunderbird.

Attempt download/install from there to get the pop-up I refer to.
