Is it this one?
Yup, the same. Won't install the button pack like it used to.

Is the button pack something separate that you can't find on the Add-ons site?
Per the codefisher documentation, it's saupposed to be an integral part of the Toolbar Buttons 1.1.1-signed.1-signed . It has been in the past, & was automatically present when the add-on was installed.
There is a large accumulation of reviews saying it doesn't work in Firefox 55.

I hadn't noticed before that you were posting from 55, but it seems to be dead in its current form.
Yeah, guess I'm stuck, then, till either moz fixes it in an upcoming release or codefisher updates. I'll let CF know in case they don't already. Many thanks!
There are some error messages showing in the Browser Console and the extension only claims to be compatible with Firefox 46.
Exception { message: "Component returned failure code: 0x…", result: 2152857618, name: "NS_ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND", filename: "chrome://toolbar-buttons/content/br…", lineNumber: 21, columnNumber: 0, data: null, stack: "@chrome://toolbar-buttons/content/b…", location: XPCWrappedNative_NoHelper }
I have NO idea why Firefox needs an AddOn for these buttons! One would THINK Mozilla would include them in their CUSTOMIZE menu! What the hell good is a customize menu if you can't do anything with it? I have been a faithful user of Firefox for more than 8 years. Now each new FF release has fewer and fewer things working in them. THE MAIN REASON I use FF is because I can customize. The browser is useless to me without the ability to add buttons.

Buttons for doing what?
Buttons I had that opened Google Search page, opened Yahoo, Gmail, MSN. reopen closed tab, translate, zoom control and reset. Imagus doesn't work, User Agent Switcher doesn't work, AutoPager doesn't work, Lazarus doesn't work, and every time I get an update I have to reinstall LastPass.
Hi aeneuman:
- Buttons I had that opened Google Search page, opened Yahoo, Gmail, MSN - Firefox allows you to add sites to the Bookmarks Toolbar but not to the main toolbar; I don't know whether there are other add-ons to do that if you do not want to use bookmarks.
- reopen closed tab - Firefox has this on the right-click context menu for any tab, or you can use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+t (Mac: Command+Shift+t).
- translate - There are several add-ons to send the full page or a selection to Google Translate, or to do other things, some of which integrate onto the main toolbar and some into the right-click context menu for the page. If the add-ons you've been using stopped working, you could check its page on the Add-ons site for reviews to see whether this is a known issue, and/or try the support link or author contact information there. You also could try a different translation add-on.
- zoom control and reset - You can move Firefox's built-in controls from the application menu to the toolbar, or you can try a different add-on.
Imagus doesn't work, User Agent Switcher doesn't work, AutoPager doesn't work, Lazarus doesn't work
I don't know why those are not working now; have you checked their pages on the Add-ons site for more information?
Some older extensions that were not updated to work with multi process Firefox may be disabled by default in Firefox 55. Multiprocess is designed to improve stability, security, and performance. However, you can force Firefox to run in single process mode and see whether that keeps everything working for a while longer.
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste autos and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the browser.tabs.remote.autostart.2 preference to switch the value from true to false
- Note: the exact name of the preference may vary, but it will start with browser.tabs.remote.autostart
(4) In the search box above the list, type or paste mpc and pause while the list is filtered
(5) Double-click the extensions.allow-non-mpc-extensions preference to switch the value from true to false
At your next Firefox startup, it should run in the traditional way. Any difference?
every time I get an update I have to reinstall LastPass.
I think there are other threads about this; I haven't read them.

Thanks. I'll try that, and appreciate your efforts on my behalf. The REAL issue is that most of those buttons provided by an add-on should REALLY ALREADY be in the "Customize" feature of Firefox by default. I should not have to jump through hoops to make a browser work the same way it has for 8 years prior to this update. And I believe that the fact that Mozilla is losing FF users substantiates my claims. I'm not even sure WHY Mozilla has put the "Customize" feature in, when without it having a wide variety of buttons to choose from, it is pretty much useless.

Add-ons sometimes put their icons on the main toolbar -- very old ones sometimes directed their icon to the now nonexistent Add-on bar, which is a problem -- so in those cases, the button does not appear in the Customize pane. Others may choose to integrate in a different way (such as right-click context menu). Others will be in Customize. There's a lot of diversity among extensions on this, so I suggest checking their individual documentation on what to expect.
By the way, if there are too many buttons on the main toolbar, an overflow list icon should appear, similar to >> (thicker).

I sympathize. I've been a FF beta since well before it became Firefox (Firebird .07, "Indio," Oct 2003). I got used years ago to some functions breaking due to version changes (& nightlies). In this case, though, it's the add-on developer. He's in his last academic year & has been needing to focus on that instead, which I completely understand. TB has been a very useful extension for years, but "all good things...." Hopefully he or someone else will make code for it or something similar, since it was a highly useful app. :)

It has been a month without a fix. All I have ever needed is a custom FF button to launch TB, and I have been puzzled that a generic app launch button is not included in the customize tool. Is it too much of a security risk? Is a fix to Toolbar-Buttons the only hope, or is there another add-on that still works?
Mozilla apparently doesn't give a rat's rectum about you or any users who are inconvenienced by this issue. The ONLY solution I can see is to abandon Mozilla and use a browser that doesn't need constant personal tweaking and maintenance to run. Mozilla doesn't care - Apparently we are replaceable...

Do you need this because you always run Firefox full screen so you can't use the Windows Taskbar (or equivalent on other systems) to start other programs?
I think the closest you can get to an Email button using the built-in features is not going to be very satisfactory. I'm thinking of a mailto bookmark:
right-click a convenient location on your Bookmarks Toolbar or Bookmarks Menu, and choose New Bookmark
In the name, you can enter Email
In the location, you can paste:
mailto:
Then click Add.
When you click the bookmark, it should launch a blank new message in your default mail program.

The extra clicks involved and loss of focus are unexpected annoyances after years of using integrated tools like Netscape, and later using FF with a custom TB button. For me, email & browsing have always been tied together. Rarely will I need just one. Mailto: just gets you a compose window, not the full client, and I have never found it useful.
It isn't that big of a deal to pin TB to the taskbar and get about the same functionality I want. Another tweak is to create a bat file to always launch both FF & TB in one go: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/launch-multiple-programs-single-shortcut-using-batch-file/
