The bookmarks column to the left of the web page window doesn't alphabetize. Difficult to find a folder to file a new bookmark. Does in the Library/hassle to keep opening that up.

Sorting via the Views menu (button) in the Library is only for viewing purposes in the Library (just like you can do in a file manager) and doesn't sort them permanently.
You can sort bookmarks via the right-click context menu to sort them permanently or use the SortPlaces extension.
