I keep getting an error message saying that I can't send emails due to being over the daily allowed threshold? I also am not really happy with this new updated version and wondered how I can go back to the previous one? I am unable now to set up my email page like it was before and can't get "folder, subject and from" headers on my email page? Thank you.

Lets start with your actual issue.

If you are getting messages about exceeding your daily limit of emails, that will be from the company providing your email server. Usually the company name after the @ in your email address.

As to the second part, going back is most unwise. It is not recommended even for those with a technical bent and a knowledge of how Thunderbird stores it's data locally.

However My mail lists have remained visually basically unchanged for the last 15 years, so I wonder if you are using the new card view and don't like it. I certainly don't.

I am only guessing about the view, please post back if I have it all wrong.
