In Thunderbird the "all address books" still shows my addresses, but all of my personal address books are blank.

I suggest you export your contact from the address book ASAP. Before doing anything else.

I am not sure what you mean by export my contact, most of the addresses are still there in the All address books, but the groups of addresses I have put in personal address books like "books" that had a group of contacts I discuss books with, are gone. The title is there but when I click on it, it is empty as are all the personal address books I have made.
