My windows 7 hard drive crashed and I was able to recover most of the data but I am not able to find my old bookmarks from the old crashed drive into the new working drive. I currently have the crashed drive as a slave drive and can access folders but how do I transfer the old bookmarks to the newly installed hard drive?

Hello, I need to preserve the tree structure of my tabs between Firefox sessions. For this I use the following process : 1) While Tree Style Tab is displayed in the sidebar, I "Select All Tabs" ; then I "Bookmark Selected Trees" ; this creates a bookmark folder (let's name it "2024-07-24 -- Foobar") containing all my tabs, and the tree structure is preserved thanks to the ">>>" TST adds in font of the bookmark names.

2) Now, in another session of Firefox, I display the Bookmarks in the sidebar, andI I "Open all as a Tree" the folder "2024-07-24 -- Foobar". All the tabs are loaded, as well as the tree structure, which can be verified when Tree Style Tab is displayed in the sidebar.

Well, till now everything works fine, as long as tabs concern web pages. But when I tried the same process with tabs showing local files ("file:///D:/.../..."), things went wrong : Firefox prefixes ALL my file names with "about:blank?" ("about:blank?file:///D:/.../..." is displayed in the search bar), and all the tab show a blank page.

I suspect Firefox cannot load the local files, as it generally shows the "about:blank" page when it cannot load a page. But, if I try to "Open in new Tab" an individual bookmark contained in the folder "2024-07-24 -- Foobar", the local file is correctly loaded and displayed. So the problem seems to be linked to the interaction between TST and Firefox (but, as I said previously, only for local files, not for web pages).

First image : folder-creation.png : - upper sidebar : TST shows the tree structure - lower sidebar : the bokmark folder "2024-07-24 -- Foobar" has been created by "Bookmark Selected Trees"

Second image : folder-loading.png - after "Open all as a Tree" on the folder "2024-07-24 -- Foobar", all the local file bookmarks are loaded as a blank page.

Thanks to anybody who can provide some help.

Hi. I have a question. Can i add a keyword to bookmark pages instantly. What i mean by instantly is when i bookmark a page can i add a keyword instantly without going to the bookmark saved location and then edit it and add it from there. I just want to press crtl + d ( bookmark shortcut ) and then when i do that i can add a keyword without the need of going to the saved location of the bookmark.

Firefox recently caught a virus when I opened a supposedly reputable website, so I had to uninstall and reinstall Firefox. Now, several of the previous features are gone. Most notably, the bookmarks icon (three bars) that used to drop down to show all my saved bookmarks now does nothing. In addition, I am no longer able to edit the names of my bookmarks. When I fill in the blanks in the "edit bookmark" function, the OK button is greyed out and not active.

For some reason a few days ago after closing Bookmarks sidebar a few times to view full-window video, I re-enabled the sidebar as always (both with clicking the icon and CTRL + B, and they came back. Now, EVERY time I open FF (using W10), the sidebar will NOT show up unless I click CTRL + B or the icon on the bar on top of the window. I have installed nothing. Nothing crashed. FF is up to date. I refreshed it. I uninstalled it. I REINSTALLED it from scratch. I performed a system restore FOUR TIMES, yet cannot get back my sidebar when opening FF. Further, when I open the sidebar with CTRL + B, the column is VERY narrow and I have to widen it. So it appears that FF cannot remember the setting for the sidebar and defaults to a skinny one when activated. I ran troubleshooting mode and YES! The sidebar works as it should and opens with a new browser opening...ONCE. I disabled/deleted ALL extensions (I only use four), but I have not changed any parameters of FF or my system in general for this to be happening. I've checked EVERY setting in FF over and over, trying everything that could be relevant. Now what? After reinstalling I'm left with the same problem. What can I do? I cannot live with NO sidebar on startup. Oh and the silly Bookmarks bar DOES work, but I don't use it...it's stupid and I don't like the look or placement of it. This problem is SIDEBAR ONLY.
