You can toggle the bookmarks in the sidebar on/off with Ctrl+B, or through the View > Sidebar > Bookmarks
You can make Firefox Firefox 5.0 look like Firefox 3.6.19, see numbered items 1-10 in the following topic Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 5.0, or 4.0.1, look like 3.6). Whether or not you make changes, you should be aware of what has changed and what you have to do to use changed or missing features.
On Windows 7, if you want to see the keyboard shortcuts in menus see item #9 near the top in

Nope doesn't work on my Mac; I have taken the time to "pin" numerous bookmarks, only to lose them all whenever I close down and reopen Firefox. How frustrating
App (pinned) tabs and Tab Groups (Panorama) are stored as part of the session data [1] in the file sessionstore.js [2] in the Firefox profile folder [3].
Make sure that you do not use "Clear Recent History" to clear the "Browsing History" when Firefox is closed because that prevails and prevents Firefox from opening tabs from the previous session.

It is also possible to use the "Show my windows and tabs from last time" setting, that is usually a more reliable way to restore session data.
- Firefox > Preferences > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my windows and tabs from last time"
@lydiajane The original question here(cfriester :owner) which was marked solved was about the bookmarks sidebar (Cmd+B on a Mac), nothing to do with app-tabs. App-tabs are not bookmarks and they do not act like bookmarks.
