I want to update to firefox 4. i have tried to download this pursuant to the prompts. However, it has not actually downloaded as far as we can tell since we keep getting prompts to download the new version. HELP

First, you might want to make a backup of your Firefox, just in case. See Backing up your information.
Next, download directly from this page: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/
After downloading, view the Downloads Manager (if it doesn't open automatically, press Ctrl+j or use Tools > Downloads). Right-click the latest entry and choose Open Containing Folder. When that opens, double-click the installer file to install Firefox 4.
