I am using Mac OX 10.8.5 & Firefox 34.0.5. The old Bookmarks Toolbar has disappeared. Following your instructions brings it back, but only for the current tab. As soon as I go to one of my bookmarked URL's the toolbar disappears.

Your System Details list shows the Show - Hide Bookmarks ToolBar 1.1 extension, so it is likely that this extension is causing your issue.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
