Previously using Thunderbird with Enigmail, upgrade to the new version without paying attention to the changes to the OpenPGP integration.

Now i read https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/openpgp-thunderbird-howto-and-faq How is my personal key protected? At the time you import your personal key into Thunderbird, we unlock it, and protect it with a different password, that is automatically (randomly) created. The same automatic password will be used for all OpenPGP secret keys managed by Thunderbird. You should use the Thunderbird feature to set a Master Password. Without a master password, your OpenPGP keys in your profile directory are unprotected.

But I do not agree and I want to regain possession of my keys, using my own password. I want to export my secret key and use it as before with my password.

Could you please help me?

Thanks in advanced,

Regards

You can use external GnuPG to manage your secret key. See the Thunderbird Smartcard Howto: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Thunderbird:OpenPGP:Smartcards
