I get an "Unresponsive Script Error" message, which normally isn't a big deal. However, now the error message (saying "stop script" or "continue") is not responding to any of my clicks. Like, I'll click on an option, and it will simply ignore it. It also eliminated all of the Firefox options from the toolbar; all that's left is the Apple logo and "Firefox". I cannot force quit the program, and I cannot shut down my computer, because it requires Firefox to be closed before shutting down. It is essentially locking my computer from turning off.

Any ideas on how to fix this? I also cannot remove the application from the dock or uninstall it.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.
