Windows 7, 8.x Support (ESR 115) ends in september - right?
Hello everyone,
support for Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 will end in September with the end of the ESR 115 branch. Corresponding support article
Is this still the current status or are there any plans to support the old Windows versions for a little longer?
Thanks and regards, Martin

Yes, recently they decided to support ESR 115 for a little longer. I don't know if there's exact deadline right now.
According to https://whattrainisitnow.com/release/?version=esr the Firefox 115.15.0esr on Sept 3 will be the last update for the older Fx 115 ESR channel.
At least Mozilla supported the EOL Windows 7, 8, 8.1 with Fx 115ESR for much longer compared to when Chrome/Chromium based browsers dropped Windows 7, 8, 8.1 back in Jan/Feb 2023.
It is possible Mozilla may decide to continue with some more stability/security updates for the old Fx 115 ESR channel.
Firefox 116.0 and later dropped support for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 so if that is indeed the case then some Firefox fork builder may be able to back port security fixes to the old Fx 115ESR to build or somehow build current Releases for Win7, 8, 8.1.
